After two decades working side by side at one of North Texas’ most respected construction firms, Bruce Helm and Aaron Scates set out to create something of their own-an organization grounded in the principles that had defined their careers. On August 1, 2012, they founded Northstar Builders Group, a company built on integrity, teamwork, and genuine respect for people. Their vision was simple: to build exceptional projects while preserving the family-like culture and trust that have continued to guide every Northstar partnership to this day.
Within weeks of opening, the impact of years spent building lasting relationships became clear. Clients, design partners, subcontractors, and former colleagues quickly rallied around Northstar Builders, helping us launch our first projects with familiar faces and trusted partnerships. Just months later, we broke ground on our first build, surrounded by the same people who had long shared our values of integrity and respect. From the very beginning, we’ve been guided by a simple yet powerful principle – the Golden Rule: treat others as you would like to be treated. It continues to shape how we build, how we lead, and who we are today.
